DADDS’ rail grade crossing safety system is a new-to-the-world solution to improving safety at rail grade crossings. The systems combine state-of-the-art retractable delineators, bollards, LED warning signs and intelligent monitoring equipment to effectively detect, alert, deter, deny and secure rail crossings from vehicle traffic during train passes. The innovative system deploys negative resistance delineators (Model 100) or positive resistance barriers (Model 400) at grade crossings to prevent train-car collisions and save lives. The base DADDS system can also control and report information on up to 20 other traffic control devices with unlimited expansion capabilities and/or interface with multiple grade crossing status systems. Communications of real time information to Automatic Train Control Systems is available through the proprietary controller communications module system. This system meets all FRA guidelines for Class 7 rail grade crossing operations and creates the safest operating environment for trains and motorists.
National Sign and Signal’s DADDS railroad crossing LED alert signs are an innovative solution to improving safety at railroad-highway grade crossings. The ultra-bright, solar-powered LED warning signs illuminate or flash 24/7 and are highly visible day or night. Signs can be clearly seen from up to 2 miles away at night, alerting motorists to unmarked or poorly marked rural or high-speed grade crossings and preventing them from inadvertently crossing the track without stopping, looking and listening for a train. An optional photocell sensor and timer can be added to the sign, extending the solar battery life by only illuminating the sign between dusk and dawn or at some other desired interval. The sign creates a safer operating environment for trains and motorists at dangerous crossings – preventing incidents and saving lives. DADDS railroad crossing LED alert signs can be easily installed and operated at any grade crossing, including remote crossings where electricity is not accessible.
National Sign and Signal’s Intelli-Monitor system is a state-of-the-art monitoring solution that provides health and administration monitoring of the equipment used to safeguard rail grade crossing equipment operations prior to and during train passages. The system protects humans and physical assets – 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The innovative software monitoring solution gathers system health and grade crossing or checkpoint status information and provides users with real-time system diagnostics data so that problems or equipment malfunctions can be identified, and addressed quickly. When an alarm signal is received from a protected site, Intelli-Monitor service automatically alerts assigned contacts for required corrective actions. Alerts can be sent via cell phone, PDA or tablet PC – any time of day or night.
